Keep playing with the same account by checking the update path before changing your installation.
Check the update prompt
Open the app and review any update message it displays. Check the source and the app name before accepting a replacement file. A download date alone does not establish that a file is a newer release.
If you installed through an app store, check that store’s update controls for the same app. Keep to the distribution route that matches your installed copy.
Prepare your account and phone
- Make sure you can access the sign-in method used for your existing profile.
- Finish your current game before starting an update.
- Check available storage and connect to a stable network.
- Keep the phone charged while the installation completes.
Install an available update
Follow the update route shown by the app or its distribution source. Wait for the file to finish, open it and review Android’s update prompt. A compatible update normally replaces the application while retaining its existing data.
Once the update finishes, reopen the app and confirm you are using the expected profile. See our login help if a different account appears.
Resolve a package or signature conflict
Android compares the package identity and signing certificate when updating an installed app. A file from a different signing source can fail even if its visible name is similar.
Do not clear app storage or uninstall simply to force an update. Check the package verification steps and ask app support about the appropriate update path.
When the update appears stuck
Check whether the browser is still downloading or Android is already installing. Avoid opening multiple copies of the installer. If progress does not resume, note the message and use the matching section of our troubleshooting guide.
